Événement

Learn how to clearly and confidently write about what you do and who you are so that your work actually connects with people. In today’s oversaturated media landscape, it takes a lot to stand out in a sea of content. Do you want to share your story, explain a school project in a way people actually care about, or get others excited about your business idea or creative work? Strong writing and storytelling skills are essential to cutting through the noise. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn practical writing techniques to capture and hold a reader’s attention. We’ll cover how to write a compelling hook, make a strong and coherent argument, use vivid and varied language and keep your audience in mind at every step. You’ll put pen to paper right away and work with others to strengthen your writing in a supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere. Clear, engaging and authentic writing is a transferable skill you can use across your academic, professional and personal life—from social media posts and cover letters to personal websites and blogs. CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
