The Rest Will Be Familiar to You from Cinema - Dawson Theatre

DAWSON THEATRE - by Martin Crimp, A radical reworking of Euripides' Phoenician Women, in which the ancient myth of Thebes is reframed through the unsettling voice of its chorus. As the city braces for civil war between the sons of Oedipus, a group of young women take hold of the action, displacing the heroes and kings of Greek tragedy and forcing the audience to look again at the wreckage of family, power, and inheritance. Crimp's spare, hypnotic language collides the ancient and the contemporary, suggesting a world in which violence keeps repeating itself in forms we frequently see in our contemporary digitized world. Directed by Leslie Baker and performed by the second-year students of the Professional Theatre Program at Dawson College. * All performances are at 7:30 pm * Wednesday March 10 * Thursday March 11 * Friday March 12 * Saturday March 13

CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
