TalkDeath’s Cemetery Scavenger Hunt at Mount Royal Cemetery

Événement

TalkDeath’s Cemetery Scavenger Hunt encourages people to appreciate and learn about local cemeteries and their histories through a guided search of the grounds. Community members learn about memorial iconography and history, connect with their community, spend time with friends and loved ones, and reflect on mortality. At the start time, community members explore the cemetery looking for monuments that match the clues (think headstone symbolism, phrases, dates), take photos with the clues they can find, and upload the photos to TalkDeath online before the end of the hour. Bring a friend or two, arrive a few minutes before the start time, and enjoy a free outdoor activity that’s perfect for those excited for Halloween, cemetery lovers, historians, spooky appreciators, and neighbors alike!

CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
