Vigüela is a pioneering ensemble from Castile-La Mancha dedicated to the traditional music of inland Spain. With 10 albums to its credit, the group has developed a unique artistic approach that has led it to collaborate with both leading figures in rural traditions and artists from a wide variety of contemporary scenes, ranging from queer Brazilian electronic music DJs to Spanish contemporary dance companies and Polish rural music projects. Deeply rooted in Iberian traditions of singing, percussion, and stringed instruments, Vigüela views folk music as a living artistic language, shaped by transmission, experimentation, and years of research.

CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
