Immigration Politics Reading Group

Led by Mireille Paquet (CURC on the Politics of immigration), the Immigration Politics Reading Group is open to all interested students and faculty members. Each session focuses on a single text, which we explore together over the course of an hour. The only commitment is to read the assigned text before each meeting and join in the discussion. It's a relaxed, welcoming space for Concordians interested in migration and immigration studies, whatever their discipline or level of familiarity with the field. Our conversations are thoughtful and engaging, and the group offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with others working on migration. Thursday, November 26 reading: Tsourapas, G. (2026). CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
