Força Estranha

Força Estranha November 7–8, 2026 | Salle Sylvain-Lelièvre, Collège de Maisonneuve After three sold-out performances in 2025, Coro Cênico Brasileiro returns to the stage with a new edition of Força Estranha (A Strange Force), featuring more songs, new texts and new elements while preserving the original production’s central theme: the experience of immigration. Nearly 90 artists bring together choral singing, theatre and movement to explore the joys, challenges, discoveries and transformations of leaving one’s country and building a new life elsewhere. Rooted in Brazilian culture, Força Estranha speaks to a broader experience of displacement, belonging and rebuilding. During the 2025 performances, the show deeply moved audience members from different immigrant communities, who recognized their own experiences and emotions in the stories on stage. CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
