Cinema Politica : The Wind’s Thirst

Activity and venue descriptions are provided in their original language.

Événement

In the wind-scoured desert of La Guajira, where rivers dry, and machines tear open the land, three Wayuu guardians rise against a siege disguised as progress. Tita, a young elder rooted in ancestral wisdom, sees wind-energy giants arrive with smooth promises masking the same old theft—land stripped, voices muted, communities fractured. Misael lives on the edge of a wound, the coal mine that devours rivers and poisons the air, yet he stays and fights, guided by dreams where the Bruno River still flows. Jazmine’s war is political and intimate, a voice for Wayuu women against corruption and patriarchal chains ; when her sister is taken too soon, grief turns to fire. The Wind’s Thirst is a story of defiance, of a people who refuse to disappear, because for the Wayuu, to resist is to remember, and remembering is survival.

CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
